Tony Burton Rocky Actor Dead at 78: Boxing Society Mourns the Loss of One of Our Own

Tony Burton a character actor who appeared in Rocky and several of its sequels, has sadly passed at the age of 78. Burton, from Flint, Michigan, had been in and out of the hospital for the past year, but never received an official diagnosis, his younger sister Loretta “Peaches” Kelley said, according to MLive.com.
Violent Femmes: Rock Band Announces Dates for Upcoming North American Tour

Alternative punk veterans, Violent Femmes have announced that they will be embarking on a tour of the US this coming May. The 14 date tour will start in Salt Lake City, UT on May 2nd and will conclude in Missoula, MT on May 19th. Check out a full list of dates and locations below.
The band will have released their new album, ‘We Can Do Anything’ by then, check out one of the tracks off of their first album in 15 years here.
‘We Can Do Anything’ will be released on March 4, 2016. It will be the band’s first studio album since 2000′s ‘Freak Magnet’, and their first one with Brian Viglione on drums.
How Not to Start Your New Job!

I recently started a new job and I think everyone reading this can probably relate to what that experience is like. You feel completely overwhelmed but try not to let it show. My new boss gave me my first assignment on day one, whipping through the instructions with lightning speed. He then looked at me and says: “Got it!” I looked back at him with a smile and said: “Got it!” Of course, I felt completely clueless but I sure as hell wasn’t going to tell him that. For the first hour, the project ran smoothly until………
Now the system I was working with was called “Pro Forma A+Q”. One very clear instruction I received was: “DO NOT……DO NOT PRESS THE ENTER BUTTON WHILE PRO FORMA A+Q IS RUNNING”. The consequences of doing this, I was told, would be catastrophic. Now, I was good about this at first but sure enough my mind wandered after a while. Next thing I knew, I did the unthinkable and unforgivable. I pressed the dreaded “ENTER” button.

In this second part of three installments, I’m covering two more very strange and inexplicable diappearances. The first has intrigued UFO and E.T enthusiasts for decades, and rightly so. I’ve researched this story intil I was nearly sick of reading about it. Nearly.
The disappearance of Frederick Valentich:
Australian pilot Frederick Valentich whilst on a training flight in 1978 radioed to report that an unidentified aircraft was following him at around 4500 feet, but was informed that there was no other air traffic flying with him at that location. Valentich then claimed he could see four bright landing lights as the craft flew closer and began to orbit his plane. After claiming to be experiencing engine problems, the pilot, when prompted to identify the other vehicle, simply responded, “It isn’t an aircraft”, before transmission was interrupted by what is described as a “metallic, scraping” noise.

American author Harper Lee has died at the age of 89 years old today. She is known the world over for her brilliant masterpiece, To Kill A Mockingbird that was opted into a 1962 movie, with Gregory Peck playing the lead role of Atticus Finch.

George Gaynes, the beloved character actor who had a huge following from his roles as the Commandant in the Police Academy series and the grouchy foster parent on the 1980s sitcom “Punky Brewster,” has died at the age of 98 Monday at his daughter’s home in North Bend, Wash and was confirmed by Iya Gaynes Falcone Brown.

Denise Matthews AKA Vanity who fronted the R & B Group Vanity 6 created by Prince and found success in acting in such films as The Last Dragon and Action Jackson with Carl Weathers, died yesterday at the age of 57. She succumbed to kidney failure and abdominal illness, both of which were linked to a previous history of drug abuse.

History is abundant with intriguing tales of people who, for all intents and purposes, inexplicably vanish from the face of the earth without a trace. These stories, some of the most fascinating in the journals of the unexplained, vary from being well documented to being dismissed as mere legend and folklore. But they are all fascinating because they force us to question the solidity of our existence.
One of our greatest fears as parents, spouses or even friends is that harm could come to someone we love. Every time my husband or one of my children leave our house, I’m on tenterhooks until I hear word that they arrived safely to their intended destinations. To lose a loved one in an accident is horrific, but to lose someone by way of an unsolved disappearance must be excruciating.
