The Sinatra File: February ‘67 at Fifty
February 7th, 2017
CEO We take a brief moment here at “The Sinatra File” to make honorable mention of two milestones in the Sinatra recording canon, both of which, at the beginning of this month, celebrate fifty years since their creation. It was early in the year of 1967 and Frank Sinatra was shuffling through the doors of United Western Recorders in Los Angeles with his production crew in tow. In the matter of a few short days spanning the end of January and the beginning of February, some landmark moments were captured on tape, one of which would propel the name Sinatra back to the top of the record charts.
The Warren’s: A Legacy Of Paranormal Marvels Or Embellished Nonsense?
February 6th, 2017
CEO For over fifty years, Ed and Lorraine Warren were considered America’s preeminent experts on the subject of spirits and demonology. The Warren’s had repeatedly been called in to control some of the most profane outbreaks of diabolical phenomena in the country. Cases where even priests become demon possessed. Cases where people are physically attacked. Cases where unworldly entities manifest and then preside. Cases where time is violated and the physical environment is completely rearranged. Cases where spirits don’t just haunt a house, they visibly tear it apart.

“I detest bad manners. If people are polite, I am. They shouldn’t try to get away with not being polite to me.”— Francis Albert Sinatra
May 14th, 2017, will mark the 19th anniversary of the passing of Music Icon Francis Albert Sinatra at the age of 82. As an avid fan who grew up to the sounds and stories of Sinatra from my late Father, Alvin Berkwitt, who collected his albums, worked rooms that he played at the Fountainbleau Hotel on Miami Beach, and watched all of his movies, I didn’t learn to really appreciate what Frank did for the world. It would hit me on my 22nd year on Planet Earth back in 1990, while stationed in Italy, and it hit me like a ton of bricks.

The Sinatra File: Sounds of the 70s
January 31st, 2017
CEO In a previous installment of this column, “The Sinatra File” took an extended look at the making of one of Frank Sinatra’s landmark album releases, “Trilogy.” Reaching stores in 1979, the three-record set not only contained some of the finest later product recorded by the legendary singer, but also capped a unique period of studio work that began six years previously with the production and release of two close-knit albums.
In this author’s opinion, “You Will Be My Music” is one of the most underrated songs in all of Frank Sinatra’s career. Composed by noted songwriter Joe Raposo, the song lyrics hold the distinction of being the first notes sung by the Chairman of the Board to a listening public when Sinatra returned to the public eye after a two-year absence with a NBC television special (Magnavox Presents Frank Sinatra) in November 1973.
