Tati’s World: Things No One Ever Told Me When I Was Pregnant! Sex, Foods, Smells & More…

October 6th, 2017 CEO

By Tatiauna Miller

When I was pregnant I wanted to read all about the “Other stuff” that happens when you’re pregnant. I wanted to know everything that pregnancy can do to a woman’s body. I wanted to know all of this because I believe in being prepared and pregnancy was the longest waiting game ever. I think being pregnant is designed to teach new mothers how to be patient. Your body is saying “Look, you need to learn to wait 9 months for this baby, because you’re going to be waiting for this slow ass child for the rest of your life.” I don’t understand how my kid takes 10 minutes to put on one pant leg but she can undress 30 Barbies and wreck the “Dream House” in under 10 seconds.

Chronicles of a Semi-Hot Mom: Serial Dating, Annoyed Teenagers & the Era of Netflix!

October 3rd, 2017 CEO

By Arita Sysamout

One of the suckiest things about being a single parent is the single part. Until you have your “Eat Pray Love Yourself” moment in life to get you refocused. From every Disney movie to soap opera. It’s been engrained in our brains to believe we grow up, go to school, have a great career, get married, and live happily ever after.

No one can prepare you for when things don’t go accordingly. Just remind yourself that you are and always have been worth it and you can’t expect love from people that don’t love themselves. The good news is you don’t have to participate in the dating game! I’ve had times when my phone was drier than the Sahara Desert and also times when I would have been considered a serial dater. I’m not qualified to give relationship advice however, I do have some funny dating stories that I can look back and laugh at. That’s been my dating life for the last 10 years until I currently took myself off the market. I’ve decided to wait a while and come back out later as a Limited Edition.

Tati’s World: A Trip to a Fancy Salon For a Fancy Hair Cut

October 2nd, 2017 CEO

By Tatiauna Miller

I love my curly hair! I love every unwilling strand on my head but it stresses me out. I usually spend a good part of the day on Sunday’s giving myself a pep talk to wash and detangle my hair for the week. I’d rather do 25 other difficult tasks than to do my own hair, it’s a struggle. On the way into work, I was thinking it’s time for a haircut and it’s been a long time. Damn, the last time I had a trim/haircut was almost 2 years ago! Yes, it’s that bad! So I was thinking since it’s been that damn long, I should finally try one of those curly hair cuts. I googled curly haircuts and Deva Cuts popped up. Deva cut is a technique that the stylist uses to cut curly heads while it’s dry. Most people get their hair trimmed when it’s wet but with curly hair, the shape of your hair changes when it’s dry, so this dry cutting process allows for a style that works best for your hair texture and shape.

“It” Becomes the Highest-Grossing Horror Film of All Time

September 29th, 2017 CEO

It, the second movie version of Stephen King’s novel about a clown who terrorizes a small town, has surpassed The Exorcist to become the highest-grossing horror movie of all-time at the US box office.

The Stephen King brand, a huge marketing campaign, and the impressive sight of Bill Skarsgård’s Pennywise the circus clown was the perfect recipe record-breaking box-office success. The Exorcist remains the no. 1 box office horror movie of all-time internationally, however, having scored $441.3mn in global revenue, compared to It’s $404.3 mn. An additional caveat is that the classic earned its impressive haul in 1973 and inflation isn’t taken into account when comparing the revenue of the two movies.

By Katrina Broner

Colin Kaepernick could stay silent and unemployed for years to come and he still would have more than earned his place in human history. In light of recent events, people keep demanding answers asking why he has been silent? Where is he now? Some even believe that he jumped out the driver seat of the movement he started and needs to steer it back in the right direction.

Chronicles of a Semi-Hot Mom: Concert Going, Dressing Appropriate & More…

September 27th, 2017 CEO

By Arita Sysamout

Once in a great while we get something called a Big Night Out. This is something we look forward to, a chance to be with other adults that aren’t just work related. The best part is there are usually no kids! This time my big night out was a Lauren Hill and Nas concert. I was a young teen when they arrived on the scene back in the 90s so naturally myself and every one else in my generation came out to relive a night of our youth. It was like a 15 year High School reunion and all the surrounding counties showed up. Every group or cliché in high school was represented. My girlfriends and I would have been the Cool Asians, just think of Adidas and Jabowokeez. We were all enjoying this beautiful warm September night at an outdoor concert pavilion. Celebrating our kids going back to school from grades K- College. We picked up our concession stand dinner of potato wedges, mac & cheese waffle cones and apple donuts, a complete balanced meal, and headed for the lawn.

Tati’s World: Remember Your Childhood?

September 26th, 2017 CEO

By Tatiauna Miller

Do you remember your childhood? Like really remember it? Do you recall all those things and people you loved like your friends, recess, toys and fun times? I feel like as an adult I’ve never created that same level of joy as when I was a child. Perhaps as a child the fun was just simple and carefree, adult fun seems more orchestrated, too thought out, with too many guidelines.

Do you remember recess being the most amazing part of your school day? I remember the excitement of when the teacher tells you to line up to go outside, it was like receiving a gift every day. When you were a child lining up was like the best thing ever, because you knew you were going to be anywhere besides the classroom. As an adult, I will avoid anything that has a line, Chipotle, Starbucks, the bathroom, it doesn’t matter, as soon as I see a line I’m automatically thinking “Nope”.

True Events That Inspired the Hit Mob Movie Casino

September 26th, 2017 CEO

Casino is one of the best movies made in the 1990s and remains hugely popular to this day. Released in 1995 and starring Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, and Sharon Stone, the film is based on the non-fiction book Casino: Love and Honor in Las Vegas by Nicholas Pileggi and centers on the relationship between two friends. One is a mafia enforcer and the other is a casino executive, and the two compete against each other over a gambling empire, fast living and women.

As with many great movies, Casino was based on several true events. It was not exactly a ‘true story’ movie, but several of the events and the plot was inspired by real-life events. In fact, the main characters in the Martin Scorsese-directed film were based on real people. Sam ‘Ace’ Rothstein is based on Frank Rosenthal, Anthony Spilotro inspired Nicky Santoro, Ginger McKenna is based on Geri McGee and Phillip Green was an inspiration from Allen Glick.

Elvis Presley’s Incredible Influence on Las Vegas

September 26th, 2017 CEO

Although Elvis Presley’s untimely death came in 1977 when the legendary singer was only 42 years of age, his memory still lives on and he is still a hugely important icon even today. One place in particular has a lot to thank the King of Rock and Roll for, and that’s the world-famous gambling hub Las Vegas. Elvis was one of the most important figures to make regular appearances at the Nevada city and help boost the appeal of the casino capital of the world. Here we discuss Elvis’s Vegas years, and how apparent it is that his spirit is still very much alive in every corner of Sin City today.

“It’s the end of the world as we know it!”

How else do you explain the multiple hurricanes that exceed their category strengths hitting some places back to back without recovery? What reason is there for earthquakes to hit the same country twice without losing much strength? Smokey the Bear can’t prevent the forest fires and his tears are hardly enough to put them out…and that is just one continent!

Then to add sick, twisted insult to injury the leader of the free world is pissing on the rest of the leaders in the world, every chance he gets. It is possible that the only thing saving us from war is the fact that they know like most Americans, that we are dealing with an old senile idiot? We don’t want war. His mouth is writing checks he thinks our asses are going to pay for but much like the President of Mexico, John McCain, Maxine Waters and Stephen Curry he has been met with an emphatic Hell No!
