Book Review: Bobby Darin: A Life

January 18th, 2012 CEO

By “Bad” Brad Berkwitt

Bobby Darin was a larger than life singer and actor who sadly has his star burn out much too soon. In 1973, at the young age of 37, he would pass away, but he packed a lot of living in those 37 years.

In Michael Seth Starr’s outstanding biography “Bobby Darin: A Life,” the author takes you from Darin’s humble start in New York City to his meteoric rise to fame in his early 20s. Starr covers how he always knew he would not live long because of his damaged heart from a case of Rheumatic Fever as a child, which plagued him throughout his life.

Throughout Starr’s book, he talks to close associates who give great insights to the man who brought Mack The Knife to life with this finger snapping style and it took that great song to the top of the charts making it a smash hit and one he would become associated with from that point of his career, to this very day, years after his death.

Everytime You Go Away Made Him a Musical Star – But He Never Went Away: Singer Paul Young Sits Down with NewzBreaker

January 9th, 2012 CEO

Exclusive Interview by “Bad” Brad Berkwitt

“Paul Young´s ‘Everytime You Go Away’ is one of my all time favorite tracks. ‘Wherever I Lay My Hat’ was my official touring sound check – acapella song. There I was every gig alone on stage singing this to an empty arena before the fans came in. I probably sang the song over 1000 times.

Call it blue eyed soul, UK soul, Paul Young soul, it doesn’t matter man. It’s his own unique vocal styling & music listeners around the world were the lucky ones. I have had the pleasure of chatting with Paul several times over the years as our career paths criss-crossed. Hello mate! Hope all is well. I think it’s time we do a song together. Just let me know where & when…. I’m there!”–Peace and one love, Corey Hart

It’s no secret that I am a fan of the music from the 1980s. Recently, I interviewed singer Corey Hart who was gracious enough to lend his thoughts on this exclusive interview with singer Paul Young. Young, another successful artist from the 1980’s had the look and the sound that brought him legions of fans for his songs such as “Come Back and Stay” and “Everytime You Go Away,” which raced up the charts in the early to mid 80s.

John Travolta an American TREASURE: Hollywood INSIDER Remembers ACTOR

January 6th, 2012 CEO

By Danny Allen

NewzBreaker readers I am truly sorry for my absence over the last few months, but at the age of 77, the medical procedure I had actually worked, but it took me a lot more time to mend than expected. From the bottom of my heart, I appreciate your countless emails that you flooded me with your good wishes and a healthy recovery. And even my old friend Steven Spielberg, who read my column about him stopped by the house to check on me. What a Class Act he remains all those years since are first meeting on the set of Jaws.

Well, enough about me, and onto John Travolta. I have always felt that as an actor, he was not appreciated as much as should be. He has been plying his trade for over 40 years and though it’s a term so badly overused today, he is an American Treasure.

Goodwill Star Sightings: Chuck NORRIS – The SKINNY

January 3rd, 2012 CEO

By Anthony Santiago

OMG – OMG – OMG alert to the Chuck “My chest hair cures Cancer” Norris power straights and queens. Barney (Frank) and I were out on our daily walk to Goodwill to exercise our diabetic legs and when we approached the front door of our local slamming Goodwill, there was a huge crowd. I figured they must have got a new shipment of girdles in to die for, but low and behold, Chuck Norris was in there talking to the Store Manager Donny who is hotty!

From the Motortown Revue to the Bright Lights of Hollywood: Ventriloquist Willie Tyler & Lester Sit Down with NewzBreaker

January 2nd, 2012 CEO

Exclusive Interview by “Bad” Brad Berkwitt

“Everything old is new again.” – Willie Tyler

It seems as of late, I have been taken on a journey back to my childhood, growing up in the 70’s, with interviews that I am conducting for NewzBreaker. In this Q & A, I had the pleasure of talking with an entertainer from this era that had both Dad and I in stitches when we saw him, and his sidekick, on the various popular variety shows from that era. This gentleman is none other than the highly popular ventriloquist Willie Tyler that brought life to his sidekick “Lester.”

When they performed, you were guaranteed to laugh each and every time Lester opened his mouth. Those lines of course have to be contributed to Willie Tyler, who for over 50 years has entertained audiences around the world. In this exclusive interview, I found Willie still passionate all of these years later for his craft and willing to share intimate stories of an amazing career that still endures to this day.
