2013 Sundance Film Festival Announces Jury Awards in Short Filmmaking

Sundance Institute this evening announced the jury prizes and honorable mentions in short filmmaking at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival. The awards were presented at a ceremony in Park City, Utah.

This year’s Short Film program is comprised of 65 short films selected from a record 8,102 submissions. The Short Film jurors are: Mike Farah, President of Production for Funny or Die; Don Hertzfeldt, Academy Award® nominated American independent filmmaker; and Magali Simard, short film programmer for the Toronto International Film Festival.

The Short Film program at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival is presented by YouTube. Twelve short films from the 2013 Festival are featured on The Screening Room, a YouTube channel curated by Sundance Institute. After the Festival, the Institute will continue to curate The Screening Room, highlighting short films each week.

In one of the more personal moments while we were shooting her for NewzBreaker, a couple who had to be in their late 60’s, were in line and the husband, was beyond excited to meet Skin. He even broke down the movie and the exact scene which was his favorite. While doing so, his wife took a picture of Skin with him. You could tell Diamond was tickled by this and it just proves, that adult movies cover every demographic in society and that includes, the full of shit people out there that bash it, but yet, watch it all the time!

The Sarah Kelly Music School: Where Students Get To Learn From Industry Greats

While it has only been open a year, enrollment at The Sarah Kelly Music School, north of Houston, Texas, is already near full capacity. Owned by two-time Grammy nominated singer/songwriter Sarah Kelly, the school strives to bring in top names to meet with students. Everyone is excited about an upcoming visit (in January) by Chris Sampson, Dean of USC’s Thornton School of Music, who will give out some partial scholarships to USC’s popular music course.
