It’s Mardi Gras on the Gulf Coast and time for the Navarre Krewe of Jesters 29 Annual Navarre Beach Mardi Gras Parade. Over 30,000 people turned out and lined the streets of Navarre Beach to watch this years parade.
The Navarre Krewe of Jesters are deeply committed to helping the local community. Each year the Krewe of Jesters proudly sponsors a scholarship to a graduating Navarre High School Senior.

In what is certainly a tragedy in the making, Bobbi Kristina was found unresponsive this morning in a bathtub full of water. Her husband found her and began CPR until police arrived on the scene. The daughter of the late Whitney Houston was rushed to a nearby medical facility where life-saving treatment continues.

Back in the day, I remember football being something different from what it seems to have become. Back then it was positive. My dad watched football and in turn passed the love of the game on to his children.
What has football become today? I hesitate to pass the love of the game onto the young. I don’t want my children to grow up respecting people like Ray Rice and thinking that spousal abuse is remotely acceptable. I don’t want my children to grow up thinking that stealing the other team’s playbook is remotely acceptable. I don’t want my kids to think stealing is the answer to any of the problems that they might face in life. I don’t want my children to think that if hard work is not enough that they should begin to inject steroids into their bodies to make up the difference. I don’t want them to think that substances like steroids, drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, or what have you are remotely acceptable.

Winning an Oscar doesn’t guarantee a thespian lifelong wealth. Just ask two-time Oscar winner Dianne Wiest, who recently said she’s struggling with money issues due to a lack of well-paying work, and may wind up homeless soon.
In a recent interview with the New York Times, Wiest discussed her upcoming role in in the off-Broadway production of Rasheeda Speaking, but also talked about her personal life, saying “I have to move out of my apartment soon” because she can’t pay her rent.
Joe Franklin DEAD at 88 – Legend Remembered

Another entertainment legend has passed on. Joe Franklin, broadcasting legend of both radio and television in New York City, had died of cancer at the age of 88.
Franklin was considered to be one of the founders of the TV talk show format, predating hosts like Johnny Carson and Dick Cavett, and gave many up-and-coming stars their first real media exposure on his show.
Franklin started ‘The Joe Franklin Show’ in 1950, and remained on the air constantly until illness forced him off only in recent weeks. He worked primarily for New York stations WOR and WJZ, was said to have never missed a scheduled broadcast, and interviewed more than 300,000 guests during his career.
