Some movies are best left as they were, no remake necessary or wanted.
And that’s exactly what’s happening with The Craft. Sony announced last May a remake of the 1996 cult classic about four teenage girls — Bonnie (Neve Campbell), Nancy (Fairuza Balk), Rochelle (Rachel True), and Sarah (Robin Tunney) — who form a coven at their Los Angeles Catholic prep high school, casting spells and using their powers on fellow classmates who’ve wronged them.

In my last column we traveled from New Orleans to Scotland, and back state side again covering some of the world’s most haunted cemeteries. In this column I’ll cover the remaining most notoriously haunted cemeteries in the world.
La Recoleta — Buenos Aires
La Recolecta is known to be haunted by a young girl, Rufina Cambaceres. Rufina was buried alive after she was mistakenly pronounced dead. Once her body was found trying to escape her tomb, her father redesigned her tomb to resemble his daughter trying to escape it. It’s now believed that Rufina haunts the place and goes around digging up other graves in order to make sure that no one is buried alive.

The trailer for this summer’s Ghostbusters reboot is the most disliked movie trailer in YouTube history. Most of those might just be fans of the originals upset at the very idea of the reboot, but the trailer is confusing for other reasons as well. Johnjay and Rich of iHeart Radio, for instance, wanted to know if the new film takes place in the same universe as the original films, what with the “30 years ago” opening and all. They asked Melissa McCarthy about it, and it turns the star is on board with everyone else stating, “The trailer is very confusing.”
But does that really mean that things are looking dire for the pic’s prospects, or is there something strange in this particular neighborhood?

When you think about amazing and haunting cemeteries, St. Louis Cemetery in New Orleans most certainly comes to mind, and rightfully so.
St. Louis is famous for its tours, which take you directly to the tomb of Voodoo Queen Marie Laveau. It is said that her spirit haunts the graveyard and that she continues to help those who dare knock on her tomb.
Considered one of the most haunted cemeteries in all of the United States. In the span of just one block, this burial ground holds over 700 tombs and over 100,000 of the dead and counting, as it is still an active grave site. Is it any surprise that it is rumored to be very haunted? For over 200 years, there have been reports of people having run-ins with the ghosts which call St. Louis Cemetery #1 home.

What’s up fam! This past weekend was Tokyo in Tulsa’s Sakura Festival at the Double Tree Hotel in downtown Tulsa. In Japan the Sakura Festival is held to celebrate the blooming cherry blossom trees, and with Tokyo in Tulsa being a Japanese culture event they wanted to have their own in Tulsa. I have never been to an event like this before and I didn’t really know what to expect. My expectations were exceeded, the event had more than I imagined.
Upon walking into the Double Tree you immediately saw the check in area with volunteers happily awaiting your arrival. I received my wristband and proceeded upstairs to where the gaming room was located. Initially I was impressed by the food they had catered in for all attendees’ right outside the room, the spread was impressive! Once you had your fill of food, a short distance away was the room I most enjoyed. With game consoles hooked up to projectors, about a dozen TVs, and tables setup for board and card games it really was a sight to see! With all of this gaming eye candy I didn’t realize there was more to the event then the room I was in! So after a couple of games of Smash brothers I took a quick trip downstairs.

Sad news to report… Afeni Shakur died last night of a possible heart attack at the age of 69. TMZ reported that the The Marin County Sheriff’s Department says it responded to Afeni’s Sausalito, CA home Monday around 9:43 PM for a report of a cardiac arrest. She was transported to a hospital … where she was pronounced dead at 10:28 PM.
