“Mythical” Dave For President: Mythical Dave On Free Speech

February 15th, 2016 CEO

IMG_0331By Dave Siderski

America is all about freedom. Our forefathers fought for the right that we all have to life, liberty and the pursuit of the all mighty dollar. Yes my friends, as one of our great American heroes, Gordon Gekko, once told us greed is truly good. We are a melting pot and it is truly our diversity and singleness of mind and purpose that truly makes us strong. In my America, I will support the right of every Americans to freely express and pursue his or her dreams, ideas and viewpoints. Unless those ideas and viewpoints are subversive and incendiary.

The Five Best Super Bowl 50 Commercials (And One I Couldn’t Stand!)

February 12th, 2016 CEO

SB CBy Dave Siderski

Well the biggest sporting and television event of the year has come and gone. This year’s Super Bowl between the Denver Broncos and the Carolina Panthers was ok to watch but hardly spectacular. I could say the same about the commercials that aired during the course of the game. The vast majority didn’t get my attention and none were nearly as memorable as my two favorites of all-time: Reebok’s “Terry Tate: Office Linebacker” which aired during Super Bowl XXVII in 2003 and last year’s Snickers commercial featuring Danny Trejo as a cranky version of Marcia Brady. That said, there were a few gems in this year’s crop worthy of mention. So here are my top five commercials of Super Bowl 50, along with one I found utterly annoying.

Holy Mother of Dragons it’s Game of Thrones – Hit Show RETURNS April 24th!

February 12th, 2016 CEO

GOTBy Kristi O’Toole

Easily one of the most popular current drama series, Game of Thrones is set to return to HBO for a sixth season April 24th. For those who haven’t seen the fifth season and are looking to avoid spoilers, consider this your official spoiler warning.

During last season’s finale, Sansa Stark and Theon Greyjoy were seen jumping off the castle wall at Winterfell. Like most finales, the show ended with their statuses unknown, but it’s now clear in recently released photos that they are both very much alive. Other important takeaways from the photos include that Arya Stark is indeed still blind and poor Myrcella Baratheon is very much dead. Like her older brother Joffrey, she was poisoned and left for dead at the Red Keep.

Psychic Detectives or Psychic Defectives?

February 10th, 2016 CEO

crystal-ball-9By Kristi O’Toole

Peter James, Chip Coffey, Sylvia Browne, Jeane Dixon, what do these people have in common? Incredible psychic abilities, or so they claim. So what are psychic abilities? Honestly that’s such a broad spectrum it’s difficult to narrow it to but a few, so here are the more common interpretations of psychic abilities. Mediumship, telepathy, clairvoyance; basically superhuman abilities. Unfortunately not the superhuman abilities like flight or speed, now that would be awesome. No, these abilities are something we all as humans are proposed to have, just not all of us can tune in to them.

The Witch: Is the Movie Melting Before It Hits Theaters?

February 9th, 2016 CEO

The WitchBy Kristi O’Toole

In 1630 New England, panic and despair envelops a farmer (Ralph Ineson), his wife (Kate Dickie) and four of their children when youngest son Samuel suddenly vanishes. The family blames Thomasin (Anya Taylor-Joy), the oldest daughter who was watching the boy at the time of his disappearance. With suspicion and paranoia mounting, twin siblings Mercy (Ellie Grainger) and Jonas (Lucas Dawson) suspect Thomasin of witchcraft, testing the clan’s faith, loyalty and love to one another.

While this movie appears to hold all the ingredients of a great horror film, it seems to have struck a nerve among the Pagan community. Chief complaints are how poorly depicted the witches are, citing false representation and the twisting of a peaceful and nature loving religion into something much darker.

Big FootBy Kristi O’Toole

At some point somewhere in our lives we’ve all seen a blurred image of an animal streaking off into the brush, and without fail the photographer swears it’s a legitimate Bigfoot sighting.
As a small child growing up I was told stories of monsters that lived in the woods. Bigfoot, Bloody Mouth, Hairy Bones, all sorts of creatures designed to keep me in line. I grew up in a time where scare tactics were a totally acceptable form of parenting, and quite frankly worked.
While these creatures may seem far fetched to some of us, there are many who will not be told they do not exist. These are people that have witnessed something that could not be explained away as a bear or gorilla or some other forest dweller.

MWBy “Bad” Brad Berkwitt

Sad news to report today….Earth, Wind & Fire founder Maurice White, whose band sold more than 90 million albums and made hits like “September,” ”Shining Star” and “Boogie Wonderland,” died Wednesday at his home in Los Angeles, his brother Verdine said. White, who was 74, suffered for years with Parkinson’s Disease and had not been seen in public for years. EWF was one of my favorite groups growing up and with music in an all time sad state today with auto tune and other gimmicks, EWF is just that much more special!

NewzBreaker extends our deepest condolences to the White Family in their time of grief.

An illustration of a body rising into a UFO on a beam of light.

By Kristi O’Toole

Little green men, flying saucers and alien abductions, all in a day’s work for Agents Mulder and Scully; but what if these things aren’t just the figment of a writer’s imagination? What if there’s more out there? To think that we could be the only inhabited planet in a solar system as vast as this one seems a little narcissistic to say the least.

I’ll admit it, I’ve really struggled with this one. There are so many theories and ideas and conspiracies that surround the existence of extraterrestrials, where does one start? Television documentaries are countless and the quality and validity of them is subject to the producer’s opinion and style.

Witches, Warlocks and Curses Oh My: The Haunting of The Joshua Ward House

January 28th, 2016 CEO

wardhouseBy Kristi O’Toole

From coast to coast it seems every state has their own famous haunted location; whether it be a private residence or popular hotel, every location is a local legend. For some us, the idea of a haunted house brings to mind a creepy dilapidated home on a hill, more than likely surrounded by headstones, bats and black cats. However, in most cases the opposite would be true with some of the most terrifying hauntings coming from the most unassuming properties.

One such haunted location belongs to, Joshua Ward House, Salem, Massachusetts. Finding a person that hasn’t heard of the Salem Witch Trials would be a difficult, if not impossible task. During the short time period of February 1692 and May 1693, twenty people were found guilty and executed with another one hundred and fifty accused of witchcraft; easily one of the most famous cases of mass hysteria throughout history. All but one were hanged.

Abe Vigoda Remembered: Not Just for Old Times Sake

January 26th, 2016 CEO

abe-vigoda-3By Dave Siderski

Veteran actor Abe Vigoda passed away today after a brief illness. Vigoda, the son of Jewish immigrants, was born on February 24, 1921 in Brooklyn, NY and began acting in the late 1940’s. After gaining some notoriety playing various roles on Broadway in the 1960’s, his career really began to take off in the 1970’s. First, he landed the role of gangster Salvatore Tessio, close friend of Vito “Don” Corleone, in Francis Ford Coppola’s movie classic “The Godfather” in 1972. A few years later, he was cast as Detective Sergeant Phil Fish in the classic ABC sitcom, Barney Miller. Vigoda’s rugged, sullen appearance along with his dry wit made him a terrific fit for both characters.

In A Closet or Under A Bed, Are Ghosts Real or All In the Head? NewzBreaker Goes to the Experts Brian Hensley & Nick McWethy!

January 25th, 2016 CEO

newzbreakerExclusive Interview by Kristi O’Toole

From my first paranormal encounter at the age of six, I’ve never wavered in my beliefs that there is more out there than just the mundane of day to day living. I’m not saying that everyone who passes away comes back as ghosts, haunting us when we sleep or when we’re home alone; but what I am saying is that in many cases of reported hauntings there is irrefutable evidence that something inexplicable has in fact taken place.

I very clearly remember my childhood encounter just as if it happened yesterday. It was bed time and I had been instructed to head that way and wait for my mother to come in and say my prayers with me. As I was adjusting my blanket something drew my attention to my closet doors, when I looked over I was startled to see a man standing there watching me. Initially I was struck with fear as there was a stranger in my room, but with a slight smile from him my anxieties instantly vanished. I knew he wasn’t there to hurt me.
