Denise Matthews AKA Vanity who fronted the R & B Group Vanity 6 created by Prince and found success in acting in such films as The Last Dragon and Action Jackson with Carl Weathers, died yesterday at the age of 57. She succumbed to kidney failure and abdominal illness, both of which were linked to a previous history of drug abuse.

With so many of our stars both on screen and in the music world dying as of late, this is another sad one.
