“They’re going to rip your cherry ass apart.” – Stabler (Christopher Meloni)
A car wreck leads to the discovery of sexual abuse. Holly (Jennette McCurdy) is brought to the hospital and when she is examined, the doctors discover a history of abuse, but she will not name the attacker out of fear. Her attacker has told her that he will kill her and her entire family if she talks…so it’s going to be a rough time getting the right guy.
Through some creative methods, they get a lead. Holly implicates her Uncle, Mark Dobbins (Daniel Hugh Kelly), who is also her coach of her soccer team. An uncle and a coach? That is the perfect suspect for sexual abuse. When they dig deeper, they discover that Dobbins has a shady past, including the solicitation of a 15 year old prostitute. When other children come forward, it is obvious that they got the guy, and Detective Stabler goes into crazy mode…a big part of the charm of this show. When Christopher Meloni turns it up, it’s great TV.
They search the Dobbins’ household and Mark’s wife, Julie (Rebecca Lowman), tells Stabler that her husband is innocent, which gets Elliot screaming. “You’re just as sick as he is,” Stabler booms, and then notes to his partner Olivia (Mariska Hargitay) that he was close to punching the wife in the face.
When Dobbins is locked up and his life is ruined, the truth begins to come out. Holly was afraid to tell who really did it to her, so she said her uncle Mark did it, which prompted the parents of other students to have their kids step up and lie to make sure that this pervert went away for a long time. The only problem is that he was innocent and now they got to get him out of prison before his cherry ass gets ripped apart…which is how Stabler puts it.
Dobbins is now out, but he lost his job and has to move in with his parents. His life is destroyed. I felt bad for poor Dobbins.
The real molester is revealed and it was a guy that everyone overlooked because of the fixation on Dobbins, but they get him and with the help of Tutuola’s (Ice T) threat that he would spread the word that the prison has a baby raper in the house, they get a confession.
CONTAGIOUS is a very entertaining episode. Elliot Stabler is more energetic and crazy as usual. On the ape shit meter, he rated a 8/10, and was ready to kill an innocent man and punch a woman in the face. Bravo! I really liked this episode.
NB Rating: 8/10.
